This week we join libraries in schools, campuses and communities nationwide in celebrating National Library Week, a time to highlight the value of libraries, librarians and library workers.
Here at the Kilbourn Public Library we are celebrating National Library Week all week with programs for community members of all ages!
On Monday, April 14 join in the 2nd Annual Community Read-A-Thon. Participate by coming into the Kilbourn Public Library or by visiting the library virtually on Twitter or Facebook. Readers of any age have three ways to be entered in the Read-A-Thon prize drawing. You can come to the library to fill out a “What I am Reading” form; or ”Like” the Kilbourn Public Library on Facebook; or Tweet the library @KilbournLibrary on Twitter by posting what you are reading.
On Tuesday, April 15 the library will be holding a special tumbling story hour – join us at 10:00 a.m. for Tumble, Rock & Read conducted by Mary Kaluzny, a former gymnast and current instructor for the Wisconsin Dells Park & Rec department. The event will feature stories and a variety of movement activities.

This year on display will be items from the Roger & Bernadine Tallmadge art collection. The items on display will be specially chosen by Melanie Tallmadge Sainz, the daughter of Roger and Bernadine Tallmadge. Melanie is the director of Little Eagle Arts Foundation (LEAF) and plans to re-open her parents’ acclaimed museum as an art center and gallery. Melanie and Elena Terry will introduce the community to the art wall at 7:00 p.m. They will be sharing the history of the collection and of the artists represented. Refreshments will be served.
