Open House On Saturday, January 23 your Kilbourn Public Library held its 4th Annual Open House. Over 130 people attended the event and participated in crafts and games, and visited our tables. The We’ve Got You Covered Open House focused on the services and programming that your library has to offer. The open house also featured a local author showcase. A big thank you goes out to Sharon Addy, Amy Laundrie and Sandy Sweeney who shared their talent and love of reading with our patrons.
You'll Love Our February Progams! February may be the shortest month of the year but we are still going to pack it full of fun. We think you are going to love what we have planned. There will be story hour every Tuesday morning at the library and every Wednesday morning at Marshall Hall in Lake Delton. Both story hours start at 10:15. Special Valentine Story Hours will be held Tuesday, February 9 and Wednesday, February 10.
Saturday, February 6 at the library, Charlotte will be presenting the puppet show, One Zillion Valentines. Join us at 10 am for the fun. Saturday, February 13 we will have a special Valentine making day at the Lake Delton School beginning at 10 am. We will have all the supplies you need to make Valentines for your friends and family. Saturday, February 20 is movie day at the library. Join us for popcorn and a movie. This month’s movie is Open Season 2. Boog and Elliot are back for more crazy adventures in this sequel. Find out how our favorite woodland creatures fare against your not so average pets in this family fun film that is newly released on DVD. We close out the month with a craft day on Saturday, February 27. You’ll have a chance to create colorful lollipop flower bouquets. Come in between 10 am and 1 pm., we’ll have the supplies, you supply the fun.
Library Book Club Selection
The Kilbourn Public Library Book Club has picked The Necklace : Thirteen Women and the Experiment that Transformed Their Lives by Cheryl Jarvis as their February book selection. A few years ago, thirteen California women agreed to pay $15,000 for a diamond necklace and take turns keeping it and wearing it for a month at a time. They explain why they did it - and what they got out of it - in this collective memoir which became a New York Times bestseller. The book club meets the 4th Monday and Wednesday of each month at the library. New members are always welcome. Join us Monday February 22 at 6:30 p,m. or Wednesday, February 24 at 1:30 p.m. to discuss this month’s book. Books are available at the library. Pick up a copy at the desk and join us.

Free Computer Classes The Kilbourn Public Library will once again be offering free computer classes! Introduction to the Personal Computer: A course for those with little or no computer experience. Topics covered include basic computer definitions and concepts (e.g., hardware, software, programs, files, etc.) as well as tips for navigating the Windows environment and managing files on your computer.

Introduction to the Internet and Email: A course for those with little or no experience browsing the web. Topics covered include basic Internet browsing and searching, Email, and tips for safe and secure web browsing.
