April Book Discussion

When
Where
Virtual through Zoom

In April we will be discussing the book Talking to Strangers by Malcolm Gladwell. This book tackles the question "Why do our interactions with strangers so often go wrong?" This book is a challenging and controversial excusion through history. Gladwell revisits deceptions of Bernie Madoff, the trial of Amanda Knox, the suicide of Sylvia Plath, the Jerry Sandusky pedophilia scandal at Penn State University and the death of Sara Bland, throwing our understanding of these stories into doubt. Because we don't know how to talk to strangers, we are inviting conflict and misunderstanding in ways that have a profound effect on our lives and our world. We will be discussing this book twice in the month of April: Monday, April 26 at 5:30 pm and Wednesday, April 28 at 1:30 pm. This discussion will take place virtually through zoom.
