Welcome Jody!
Literacy Council Book Drive
The Wisconsin Dells Literacy Council needs your help to make the holidays a little more special for area children. Please donate your new or gently used children’s books. The Literacy Council and the St. Vincent de Paul Society will distribute the books to needy children in the area. Books can be dropped off here at the library anytime before December 16. What a great way to share the holiday spirit by giving the gift of reading to children! The literacy council is a great organization that provides a tremendous service to the community. Besides their annual book drive, the literacy council also donates books to new mothers from the area, provides tutoring for area adults who need help with reading or English as a second language, supports the library with literacy materials, holds training and classes for tutors and students and provides a language learning lab here at the library. Currently the literacy council is looking for new members to act as tutors or to serve on the board. Call the library if you are interested. We will let you know how you can join and make a difference in someone’s life and a difference in the community.
Holiday Reading for Book Club
This month the Kilbourn Public Library book club is doing something special. Each member will be choosing from a selection of holiday books that are available at the library. Members will read their chosen book and tell other members about it at the December meeting. Anyone is welcome to join in this holiday book reading. Just stop by the library and pick a book.
The book club will meet on Monday, December 19 at 6:30 p.m. and Wednesday, December 21 at 1:30 p.m. If you haven’t had a chance to attend a book club meeting this is a great month to do so. Join us either of these days, hear about the books we read and enjoy some holiday cheer. New members are always welcome.
